Do you ever inspect your basement after a good rainstorm? Is your sump pump emptying throughout the day? If you have an unfinished basemnt you should inspect the block to make sure it is not damp. If it is, you need to investigate and find out where the water is coming from. Start on the outside and make sure your gutters are clean, the downspouts are draining far enough away from your home and your landscape is sloping away from your home. Doing these simple things can keep you out of deep water!!!!
Damp basements can create mold and it will spread throughout. Mold will effect people in different ways so if your are getting headaches in the basement and your spouse is not, then mold could be present. Take 5 minutes and investigate your basement and look for signs of moisture, water stains and mold.
